About Me
_edited.jpg)
As a skilled clinical psychologist, I draw on systemic principles alongside CBT, ACT, narrative, and attachment-informed approaches. For those of you unfamiliar with the jargon associated with therapy types, my skill set is broad and flexible and designed to work with most areas of psychological challenges and distress. I have over 15 years' experience in mental health services, facilitating training and offering consultation spaces to reflect on a variety of topics.
My values as a clinical psychologist include authenticity, warmth, flexibility, curiosity, compassion, and social justice. I offer an inclusive practice where I am guided by the needs of the person sat in front of me.
Areas of expertise include trauma (childhood and single event trauma), anxiety, OCD, family issues, dissociation, health issues, and systems. I have experience working with children, adults, parents, families, and those with intellectual disabilities.
Qualifications
Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
I trained at the University of Bath. The course specialised in CBT, systemic therapy and health. My training included six placements across children and adults services. I also completed three research projects with a focus on participatory practice.
CBT Therapist
I met all my requirements to become a BABCP accredited therapist and am just waiting on accreditation. During training I completed over 200 hours of CBT practice and have gone on to fulfil more hours since. I am competent and confident using CBT with most presentations, though tend to integrate it with other approaches depending on need.
MSc Community Psychology
In 2018 I completed a masters in clinical and community psychology at the University of East London.
Further Training
Additional training includes narrative approaches, attachment and trauma, trauma focussed CBT, cultural competence in supervision, Dyadic developmental psychotherapy, leadership, and parent group facilitator training.
